Photography: Make stadium content unboring

Optus Stadium

Let’s face it—marketing hot chips, beers, and pies doesn’t sound like the most glamorous gig. But when the brief is to make stadium food and beverage anything but boring, you have a pretty good challenge on your hands.

Enter Optus Stadium. The iconic Perth venue wanted to take its food and drink offerings to a whole new level of Instagram-worthy.

My challenge as the in-house marketing gal: bring to life fresh digital marketing content for the Optus Stadium social media channels.

The Brief: Elevating Game Day Stadium Food

The job was clear: make everyday stadium food—chips, pies, and beers—look as exciting as the games played at Optus Stadium. Sure, these are classic stadium staples, but how could we take them from ordinary to extraordinary in a way that would make people stop scrolling?

The solution was simple: create an aesthetic that felt premium and fresh while staying true to the energy and spirit of the stadium. I wanted to create visuals that would stand out on Instagram.

I focused on clean, responsive design, ensuring that the visuals had impact on all devices, from desktops to smartphones.

The Vision: Clean, Bold, and On-Brand

As a creative, I knew the photos had to blend seamlessly with Optus Stadium’s brand while bringing something new to the table. I envisioned a clean, minimalist backdrop that allowed the food to take centre stage, with a nod to the stadium’s iconic teal brand colour.

The idea was to keep things fresh and simple, letting the food pop without distracting backgrounds. The teal accents brought a bit of vibrancy and connection to the stadium, but the focus remained on making the food look as irresistible as possible.
